Dr. Anup Amatya

Biography: Dr. Amatya received a PhD degree in Biostatistics from University of Illinois at Chicago in May, 2011. He teaches undergraduate and graduate Biostatistics courses. Before joining NMSU, he served as junior statistician in various research projects at the University of Illinois at Chicago. His research interest is in the application of biostatistical methods in pharmaco-epidemiology and biomedical field. His current research focuses on meta-analysis of sparse binary data, statistical methods for pharmacovigilance, multivariate random number generation and sample size determination for hierarchical non-linear models. He is also the designated biostatistician for NMSU Clinical and Translational Research-Infrastructure Network.
Leticia (Letty) Gallegos
Biography: I have worked in higher education for over 20 years at several institutions including; Tarrant County College, the University of New Mexico, DeVry University Dallas and the University of North Texas. I have held numerous positions including; Director of Weekend College, Director of Academic Operations, Director of Academic Advising and Associate Dean for Student Success.
I have had significant experience in academic and student services including developing student services, staff supervision and program implementation and evaluation. I have always been involved in committee work and have conducted various presentations and workshops for both students and parents. My greatest passion is helping students succeed.
