Field Work

Dear MPH Students:

Welcome to NMSU.  Below are listed a few different research related opportunities you might wish to explore.  Don’t forget to attend the student NIH workshop on Thursday, Sept 29, between 1 and 3 p.m. in Milton Hall, Rm 30.  In case you don’t know, NIH stands for the National Institutes of Health.  There is an institute dedicated to all different areas of health, particularly those health problems most heavily impacting our U.S. Population.

Remember to keep your grades up.  Your GPA will be important when applying for these positions.  Applications for most of these are typically due in early spring (double check to make sure I am right).

One last thing, many of these organizations have satellite units throughout the U.S., so even though the main office is in Washington D.C. or Seattle, you might find offices in San Diego, CA or El Paso, TX.
