International Students

Please be advised that if you are accepted by NMSU to pursue your graduate education, it will be necessary for you to secure an F-1 Student Visa.  In order to qualify for your Student Visa, you must demonstrate that you have financial support for at least the first year of study.  If you have any questions concerning your visa status, you can contact International Student Services at isss@nmsu.edu. Please be advised that financial support from the Department of Health Science is very limited.  The department is provided a limited number of Graduate Assistantships each year. A graduate assistantship is a paid position whereby a graduate student supports faculty teaching or research activities. Competition for these funds is very strong.  This means that if you have not received an assistantship award before coming to NMSU, the likelihood of receiving an assistantship upon arrival is rare. Please plan accordingly.
