Admissions & Requirements
Students seeking admission to the Bachelor of Public Health degree in the Department of Public Health Sciences at NMSU are
first admitted as pre-public health students. Students keep this designation until they have met the following admission requirements:
- A accumulative grade point average of 2.5 after completing specified general education course work (common core) and department pre-requisites
- A grade of C- or better is required for all departmental required courses, listed below:

Conditional Acceptance: Applicants may receive a conditional acceptance in the program if they are currently enrolled in the last of the required pre-requisites at the time that they submit an application to the Bachelor of Public Health degree program. Such conditional acceptance will be revoked if the applicant does not successfully complete each of the pre-requisites with a grade of C- or better.

Students may select a minor from another university department. The student should contact that department for requirements.
The 18 credit hours of the minor would be counted toward the 31 credit hours of electives required for graduation.
