We have designed all our MPH Degree programs to accommodate working professionals. On-campus classes are scheduled in the evening hours, usually starting at 5:00 pm; online courses can be completed asynchronously, fitting any schedule.
Our MPH program faculty members are committed to providing excellent and innovative instruction, both on-campus and online. MPH students master core competencies during the program providing a strong academic foundation for careers in public health or further graduate study. Our students become successful health professionals and leaders working with diverse populations.
We have a long history of providing excellent, accredited graduate education. Our graduate program began in the fall of 1996, received initial accreditation in 2000, and full accreditation in 2003, through the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). Our current accreditation runs through 2025. We are also a member of the Association of Accredited PH Programs (AAPHP), and a member of the Returned Peace Corps Volunteer (RPCV) Fellows Program.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS: Please note that international students are not eligible to participate in online programs at this time. Such students must apply for the on-campus program only.MPH Degree Programs
MPH in Health Behavior and Health Promotion (HBHP)
This program is offered in two formats:
- On-Campus. We offer the on-campus MPH degree in a traditional classroom setting at times that accommodate working professionals. Online students have enhanced opportunities to interact with professors, engage in research, complete a thesis, and participate in other on-campus professional and extracurricular activities. On-Campus students are also eligible for Graduate Assistantships to help defray the cost of their educations. Such assistantships also come with in-state tuition rates.
- Online. Our online degree programs serve students who cannot participate in a traditional on-campus educational experience because of geographical or other constraints. Online students engage with professors via a wide range of distance education technologies, including Canvas, Skype, Zoom Meeting, and Adobe Connect. Our Teaching Academy Professionals have certified many of our distance education courses. A new online cost structure allows online students to pay reasonable per-credit-hour tuition.
MPH In Health Management, Administration & Policy (HMAP)
This program can be completed in the online format only.
Students in the online HMAP concentration complete all their degree requirements online, including Public Health CORE courses, concentration courses, field placement, and electives. Students completing the HMAP concentration can only complete the non-thesis option.
