Dr. Jill McDonald is an epidemiologist who studies health disparities in the US-Mexico border region and in the US Hispanic and Mexican populations. Most of her research focuses on birth outcomes and chronic disease in border communities. Before joining the Department of Public Health Sciences at NMSU in 2013, she served as the Center for Disease Control and Disease Prevention’s maternal and child health epidemiologist assigned to the border region. Recently funded projects include primary and secondary data analyses of cesarean delivery and child obesity and the factors associated with these conditions.
